The Annual Alba Truffle Fair – air tickets from €12.99!

I briefly mentioned this event in one of my previous blogs but suddenly when I found out that Vueling had a four day sale on it pushed me to write a little more about it.

From the 6th October till the 25th November 2019 this amazing festival takes place every weekend in the beautiful town of Alba.

Alba is often called the culinary capital of Piedmont so there is no shortage of restaurants serving truffle and it is only one hours drive from Genoa. It could be the most beautiful and tasty mini break you have this year.

My quick flight search revealed that if you went for the first weekend of the event you would only pay €76 euros per person – but actually there are bigger bargains to be had if you search for the €12.99 days.

But be warned the sale only lasts for four days from now…..

If you want to combine the break with a Milan trip it is only two hours drive from there so you could fly into any of the Milan airports.

The white truffle by contrast is not cheap – last year an 850g tartufa bianca sold for €75,000 but even if you are not there with such deep pockets you will have the opportunity to sample the best the area has to offer.

Other delicacies are showcased too. Most obviously wine – the area is heaving with beautiful vineyards, but also cheese, hazelnuts, chocolates and grappa to name but a few.
